Monochromatic Challenge

Yea, at first I wondered what a monochromatic challenge was. But it's pretty simple, basically you have to incorporate tints and shades of the same color.

This is the card I created based on that concept

a Cute Valentine card

My daughter asked if I could make a Valentine's card for one of her very good friends, and of course I was thrilled to do so. I wanted to make something cute, girly & pink!!!
















Materials used:
  • 4 1/2"x4 1/4" card base (bazzill card stock in berry sensation)
  • Sizzix embossing folder (valentine set#4)
  • Distress ink (fired brick)
  • elephant die cut (I found at Target by K&Company)
  • Martha Stewart loop punch (I love this one! I seem to be using it a alot lately)
  • Martha Stewart felt heart die cuts
  • ribon (from Michaels)
  • white gell pen, purple gell pen, pop dots & yellow scrap paper

Scrappy Moms Tuesday Challenge

There are so many challenges this week :o) Hooray!
This one is over at Scrappy Moms Stamps. This week you have to use the Sweethearts cartridge (or anything similar). I was so lucky to purchase the Sweethearts cartridge a couple of weeks ago at Michaels for $9.99!!....and I absolutely love it!!

So here's my entry. The little details on the cake took forever to assemble, but I am very happy with the way the card turned out.

Awards & cupcakes

Hello my bloggy friends!! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!

Princess Challenge

It's another Tuesday Challenge over at Momo's Blog.
This weeks' theme is "Princess". It can be a crown, castle, girl, anything princess like.
I love making girly cards, so I couldn't wait to get started :o)

a Card for Jonathan

Hi everyone!!!!

Over at Card Cupids we are hoping to collect a bundle of cards for a very special boy named Jonathan who recently been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
It is a rare auto-immune disease that attacks his nerves.
It can cause muscle weakness, paralysis and breathing problems.
It will be so wonderful if you guys can make a card for Jonathan, I am sure that will brighten up his day and bring a smile to this precious boy.

Love Cupid

Hello everyone......is the weekend here yet????
This will be a quick post (I'm waaaaaaay behind on my DVR recordings & I promised hubby today we will catch up on our shows heehee)

Winter Theme Challenges

It sure doesn't feel like winter here in So. Cal. We had a period of some crazy storms (6 days of non stop rains!!!), but now it's nice and sunny with a weather forecast of 78 degrees for Friday!!
A few of the blogs I follow are having a winter theme challenge, which is a nice change from all the Valentine's day cards I was keeping busy with.

Here's my winter themed creation. Aren't those the cutest faces!!!

  • snow globe (christmas cheer) cut @ 5 1/4". Also cut snow globe shadow, copy & mirror image & weld together.

  • sentiment - sticker (from a christmas collection...purchased a few years ago)

Black, Silver & White Challenge

I thought this challenge would be a fun one, especially because you are only allowed to use 3 colors: black, silver & white. I was a bit put off at first, but I thought....Hey that's what a challenge is after all....
This is the card I came up with for the Paper Playtime Challenge
















Card Recipe:
  • Std. A2 card base (DCWV Shimmer Stack)
  • black card stock cut @5"x3.75" (use white gel pen for stitching)
  • wedding ring image (from a bridal paper sheet I had in my scraps, I added stickles for a bling affect & inked edges with SU! basic gray)
  • Ribbon (from Michaels)
  • Martha Stewart pearls
  • Sentiment stamped on vellum (I found the stamp at Joanns' in the clearance rack last year)
  • EK punch (for the tag)

Puppy Love

Hmmmm...my second Valentine's Day card for the day...I guess I'm feeling lovey dovey LOL
I will be entering this card over at My Creative Time. The challenge was to create any project as long as it has a heart somewhere on it.
I put this together on my Gypsy.

Peachy Keen Stamps

I LOVE Peachy Keen Stamps!! They are sooo much fun to use !!
No, I'm not giving a sales pitch, I just wanted to bring awareness to a wonderful product :o)

I had some free time earlier in the week, so I got working on a card that turned out sooooo darn adorable!!

Cricut Cartridges Mega Sale

Did the title capture your attention???
I wanted to let everyone know that I happened to stroll into Michaels earlier today and I was shocked to find $9.99 cricut cartridges!!! Not every Michaels has the same promos, but it's worth stopping by and taking a peek :) I was informed that some of the Michaels stores won't start this sale until Saturday the 8th (this coming weekend).
The selection is limited, but still worth checking out.

It's Your Day!

I mentioned in my previous post that February is a busy busy birthday month for me....well...I decided to get a head start on all the birthday card making :)
I don't like waiting to do things last minute, it's not worth loosing sleep over LOL

Here's one of the cards I finished. I put it all together on my Gypsy (I never thought I would use it as often as I do...took a bit to get used to the small screen, but I <3 Ms. Gypsy) 
The card turned out cuter than I have imagined. Yay!

Anything Goes Challenge

This weeks Card Cupids challenge theme is "Anything Goes". This is easiest of challenges! You get to make any card any way you want! The prize for the lucky winner is a $15 gift certificate to Whimsy Stamps.

Below is the card that I made. The stamp is called "Billy the Cowboy Bear". How adorable is he?? I used my daughter's prismacolor pencils (those are her favorite to use for her art class). Birthday Card

I am bummed out the holidays are over!!! I look forward to all the festivities...and poof!!...gone...but a lot of happy memories remain :-)

Luckily, February will be a very busy month for me! 
Plenty of birthdays to celebrate!!
Let's see....my niece on the 1st, my sis in law on the 5th, my other sis in law on the 8th, my darling hubby on the 12th & let's NOT forget Valentine's Day on the 14th which also happens to be the birthday of a dear friend. I better get started with card making!!

Here's a card I made for my youngest sis in law who will be celebrating her 28th birthday!! OMG!! I can't believe it! I met her when she was 14...& I used to help her with biology homework.....oh the memories...

  • std. A2 card (black card stock)
  • pattern paper 5 1/4"x4" (k.i memories, classic prints pad)
  • orange scrap paper 4"x1 1/4"
  • purple scrap paper 3 1/2"x3"
  • white scrap paper 3"x2 3/4"
  • stickles & purple bling
Stamp image on white scrap paper (stamp is from Michaels)

glue cut pieces to image, attach to purple card stock & decorate with stickles
 

My Pink Stamper Design Team 2011 Challenge

Happy New Year to all my blog friends!! Hope you guys had a great time celebrating with family & friends, I know I did :o)
